Sometimes the road leads us to a place where the heart finds peace. For Associated Cargo Experts, such a place became Seliger — a lake where the sky and… eternity are reflected.
We have already shared the story of the Exaltation of the Cross Church, which is being revived through the efforts of our company and like-minded friends (LINK). Yet words are only a shadow of what we truly experienced. That is why the company’s leadership invited the entire team — more than forty logistics specialists — on this journey, to touch the sacred with their own hearts.
Symbols That Remain
A cross and four oil lamps were presented to the church’s altar. The cross became a pair to the one already standing there, completing the harmony. The lamps will now illuminate the Exaltation of the Cross Church with their gentle light. These sacred gifts will remain for generations, as a reminder that goodness never disappears — it continues to live on.
Bread Shared Together
In the monastery’s refectory, we were welcomed with generous breakfasts and lunches. For many, it was a true discovery: delicious meals prepared with care, long wooden tables where we all gathered together. This shared meal carried with it warmth, unity, and genuine hospitality.
Father Gavriil spoke of faith, trust, and compassion. His words were not a sermon, but a revelation — quiet and full of light.
A Lake That Teaches Silence
Seliger embraced us in its arms. We glided across its still waters on boats, breathed in the pure air, and rejoiced like children. In the evenings by the fire — songs, tea, laughter. The simplicity of those moments felt priceless.
Climbing the belfry, we gazed from a bird’s-eye view at the endless expanse of Seliger and the golden domes of the church shining in the sun. The excursion through the men’s monastery, founded back in the 16th century, became a true lesson in history.
And the most moving moment was touching the very walls of the Exaltation of the Cross Church, to which ACEX gives its heart.
What Remained With Us
This two-day journey was not a corporate trip but a true pilgrimage. We returned changed: purer, softer, brighter. The journey left a spark of light in each of us. We came back kinder and lighter — with a sense of peace and harmony that we wish to carry forward, into our work, our lives, and into the hearts of one another.
