The Novorossiysk seaport showed the largest cargo turnover in January-October of this year. In the reporting period, the indicator is estimated at 120 million tons, which is 2.4% more than last year. And for transshipment of cargo in the port is 17% higher than the total cargo turnover of all sea harbors of our country for 9 months of this year. Such data were provided by the Association of Seaports of Russia.

Alexander Kibalnikov, CEO of KSK Group, says that the company's container cargo mainly comes from Turkey via Novorossiysk.

“From March to June, there was a slight decline in cargo traffic in the port of Novorossiysk, since cargo came here only from Turkey,” – added Oksana Feoktistova, director of the business unit of PEC: GLOBAL. – “By mid-summer, new services from China and India also appeared.”

The frequency of ships departure with PEK from India and China is once a week. From Turkey, the company's cargo arrives in Novorossiysk several times a week.

“We do not observe congestion, everything is processed in the normal mode,” – says Oksana Feoktistova. – “The only thing is that the Black Sea often storms in winter. Because of this, for a week or two, the ship can stand on the roadstead waiting for unloading.”

Over the past six months, 5 new services have been launched from Novorossiysk to China. And their number continues to grow, added Denis Bobrakov, CEO of Black Sea Shipping ACEX in Novorossiysk. There are also plans to launch lines to Indonesia and Malaysia.

“The main terminal of the port of Novorossiysk was designed to work with large vessels of the Panamax class,” – says the expert. – “Now small vessels that run on the shoulder of "Turkey-Novorossiysk" with a carrying capacity from 100 to 500 TEU are serviced here. Moreover, there are several berths in the port, so it is possible to unload several vessels of small tonnage fairly quickly.”
