ACEX Group Delivers CAT Excavators to the Kyzyl Kum Desert

ACEX Estonia continues a long-term project on transportation of oversized road building and mining equipment from CAT, manufactured by the largest American corporation Caterpillar Inc.

Delivery of expensive parts for CAT mine excavator weighing about 3.5 tons was arranged from Belgium to Zarafshan station to Navoiy Mining and Metallurgical Integrated Plant. The equipment was delivered in several stages: by road transport to the sea port of Antwerp, then transshipment to a cargo ship and shipping to the Estonian port of Paldiski, from where the cargo has been successfully delivered to Zarafshan station by railroad transport.

According to the head of ACEX Estonia, Eduard Kyasnapuu: “The complexity of this project was in high cost of transported cargo, as well as in finding ways to protect cargo from atmospheric precipitation and mechanical damage during transportation. However, this problem was also successfully resolved by using shrinkable thermo stencil.”
