10/30/2011
The Annual General Meeting of the international logistics alliance WFA (World Freight Alliance) that gathers independent freight forwarding network companies from all over the world has been held for the seventh time.
The October 24-27 meeting in Sydney was visited by the leaders of the top players of the logistics' market from the most important world transportation centers like USA, European Union, South and Central America, Australia and Oceania, China and Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea, Middle East, India, and Africa - in order to discuss the cooperation opportunities and logistics' market development challenges in the next 2012 year.
Extra to the main topics that the group members arrived to discuss at the remote “green continent” such as the new terms of doing business, new routes, cooperation with the leading air carriers and steamship lines, newly opened offices and extended range of services rendered by the alliance members, the WFA-conference participants discussed new possibilities for the group.
First of all, it will be a global Track and Trace system which will enable the clients of the WFA members to track their shipments online at any time and at any place. Secondly, an international common IT-platform for online cooperation was demonstrated to the partners. This tool will enable everybody in WFA to enjoy the opportunity to offer their clients a very precise system of online freight costs calculation.
“For the ACEX Group, membership in WFA together with the world logistics leaders, such global companies as Aramex, Cargo Partner, Clasquin, Ziegler, AIT is the way for development and globalization of the group which represents in the alliance an important, yet quite complicated, region of the post-soviet territories”, - announced the ACEX Group's Board member Miroslav Zolotarev who also has been the WFA Steering Committee member for the last three years.
Tomas Brasiunas, the ACEX Global Partner Network Director summarized the results of the Sydney meeting: “This session brought together real experts of their businesses and leading companies of the world freight forwarding market. Our main target in 2012 is to show to the global partners who have had great experience in developing their own network companies, how to do business in Russia, CIS countries and Baltic states, our mission is to teach the global foreign freight forwarders how to prosper in the specificities of this huge and complicated market”.
The ACEX Group's delegates also invited their global partners to hold the 2013-year Annual General Meeting of the WFA network in Moscow and the majority of the international alliance members showed their interest and supported this idea.
Besides, next autumn, in 2012 the ACEX Group plans to organize its first conference of the own global network in one of the capitals of the home region and its name will be announced by the end of year 2011.
